Product Description

NAS NM17 (manufactured by Nippon Yakin Kogyo Co., Ltd.) is a high-performance, non-magnetic (amagnetic) soft austenitic stainless steel.

Unlike standard high-strength non-magnetic alloys that focus heavily on high yield strength via severe cold working, NAS NM17 is specifically formulated as a soft, highly formable non-magnetic alloy. By balancing a high manganese content with a robust addition of nickel, chromium, and nitrogen, it provides excellent ductility and deep-drawing capabilities while maintaining an incredibly stable non-magnetic footprint even after aggressive cold deformation.

The dual utilization of both Manganese ($16.00–17.00\%$) and Nickel ($7.00–8.00\%$) creates an incredibly stable austenitic matrix, preventing the formation of strain-induced martensite or delta ferrite during fabrication.

Processing & Heat Treatment
