Product Description

Inconel 925 (UNS N09925 / Incoloy 925) is an age-hardenable nickel-iron-chromium superalloy engineered to combine high mechanical strength and outstanding corrosion resistance. The addition of molybdenum, copper, titanium, and aluminum provides exceptional resistance to sulfide stress cracking and stress-corrosion cracking in sour (hydrogen sulfide-containing) crude oil and natural gas production environments.

Scrap Classification & Re-Melting Guidelines

  • Scrap Grade Classification: Premium Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) / Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) quality low-carbon alloy scrap.

  • Foundry Forms: Wellheads, downhole tubular scrap, valve bodies, forged shaft cutoffs, heavy plate ends, and clean processed turnings/borings.

  • Quality Requirements: Must be strictly isolated from high-copper brasses or bronzes, free-machining high-sulfur alloys, and non-nickel stainless steels. Scrap must be fully cleaned of heavy grease, oil, scale, and non-metallic coatings prior to vacuum or induction remelting to maintain precise titanium and aluminum precipitation ratios.
