UNS N06690 (commonly known as Inconel 600 family upgrade: Inconel 690 / DIN 2.4642) is a high-chromium nickel superalloy specifically engineered to provide exceptional resistance to high-temperature corrosion, oxidizing chemicals, and severe stress-corrosion cracking (SCC).

Key Technical Attributes

• Ultra-High Chromium Content: Containing 27.0% to 31.0% Chromium (nearly double that of Inconel 600), it forms an exceptionally stable surface oxide film that resists aggressive oxidizing media such as nitric or nitric/hydrofluoric acid solutions.

• Chloride Stress-Corrosion Resistance: The minimum 58.0% Nickel base makes round bars practically immune to chloride-induced stress-corrosion cracking and sodium hydroxide degradation.

• Service Temperatures: Provides high thermal stability and excellent oxidation resistance up to 1100C (2012F).
