EN AW-5754 (AlMg3) is a medium-strength, non-heat-treatable alloy known for its excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance and high weldability. In European standards, "AlMg3" is the chemical designation, while 5754 is the numerical grade.

2. Typical Mechanical Properties

The properties of AlMg3 vary significantly based on the temper. For plates and sheets, the most common states are O (annealed) and H111 (lightly work-hardened).

3. Key Engineering Characteristics

• Corrosion Resistance: Excellent. It is particularly resistant to seawater and industrial polluted atmospheres.

• Weldability:Very High. It is easily welded using MIG or TIG methods and retains much of its strength in the weld zone.

• Surface Finish: It is highly suitable for anodizing, making it a favorite for architectural facades and decorative trim.

• Formability: Excellent cold-working properties. In the "O" temper, it can be easily bent, drawn, or spun into complex shapes without cracking.

• Bending: It has a tight bending radius in the H111 condition, typically $1 \times$ thickness, making it ideal for folded sheet metal parts.
