• Microstructure: Low-carbon soft martensitic structure with small amounts of retained austenite

• Density: 7.7 g/cm³

• Hardness Range: 23 to 29 HRC (typically supplied in quenched and tempered condition)

• Scrap Cleanliness Standards:

  • Foundry scrap strictly free of molding sand, investment ceramic shells, furnace slag, and refractory inclusions

  • Free of heavy torch slag, plasma cutting scale, oxidation, oil, grease, and paint markings

  • Completely segregated from standard 400-series ferritic/martensitic steels (such as 410 or 420) due to nickel and molybdenum content

  • Free of non-ferrous attachments, carbon steel contamination, and foreign non-metallic debris
